WELCOME

I am a climate researcher trying to understand the interactions of the physical climate with society, studying climate model predictions and extreme events. Beyond scientific topics, I like to engage with the public about my research and climate science in general. I am also interested in science policy and issues of power (abuse) and equality in academia.

I research and teach at the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability at Universität Hamburg in Germany. My previous research projects were located at the LMD Laboratory of Institut Pierre Simon Laplace (IPSL) at Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris and at LOCEAN-IPSL at Sorbonne University in Paris, funded by the European Commission Horizon 2020 EUCP (European Climate Prediction System) project.

I hold a PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) degree in Climate Modelling from the University of Hamburg, Germany, in cooperation with the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology, a MSc degree in Climate Science from the University of Hamburg, and a BSc degree in Marine Geoscience from the University of Bremen.
