ABOUT ME

I am a researcher, writer, speaker and communicator based in Hamburg. My research focuses on climate extremes, their impact and prediction. I am also interested in ocean dynamics and predictability, mostly focusing on the decadal time scale. The ultimate target of my research is providing useful and credible climate information to decision makers for society. To that end, I employ impact models to assess the value of climate information for stake holders and society.

Beyond scientific topics, I like to engage with the public about my research and climate science in general. I am also interested in science policy and issues of power (abuse) and equality in academia.
